Гигиена полости рта является неотъемлемой частью пародонтальной терапии. Ее важное значение в поддержании здоровья десен обусловлено необходимостью контроля образования и роста микробной бляшки — главного этиологического фактора развития воспалительных заболеваний пародонта.

Целью круглого стола с участием ведущих экспертов в области пародонтологии, проведенного 26 октября 2017 года, явилось рассмотрение вопроса об эффективности и безопасности использования электрических зубных щеток и выработка рекомендаций по использованию их в качестве ежедневного средства по уходу за полостью рта. По итогам совещания было сделано заключение о том, что электрические зубные щетки с возвратно-поступательными движениями щетинок и динамическим потоком жидкости имеют наибольшую эффективность в обеспечении необходимого уровня очищения поверхности зуба даже в самых труднодоступных участках.

Oral hygiene is an integral part of periodontal therapy. Its importance in maintaining gum health is due to the need to control the formation and growth of microbial plaque — the main etiological factor in the development of inflammatory periodontal diseases.

The purpose of the round table with the participation of leading experts in the field of periodontics, held on October 26, 2017, was to consider the effectiveness and safety of using electric toothbrushes and to develop recommendations for their use as a daily oral care product. Based on the results of the meeting, it was concluded that electric toothbrushes with reciprocating movements of bristles and dynamic fluid flow (action) are most effective in providing the required level of cleaning of the tooth surface even in the most inaccessible areas.
